4. Website Hosting and Server Log Files
Our website is hosted by Framer B.V. (based in the Netherlands). Framer provides the platform and utilizes the hosting infrastructure of Amazon Web Services (AWS).
When you access our website, the hoster automatically collects and stores information in "server log files," which your browser transmits. This includes:
- Browser type and version
- Operating system used
- Referrer URL (the page you came from)
- Hostname of the accessing computer
- Time of the server request
- Anonymized IP address
This data is not merged with other data sources. It is processed based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in the secure, reliable, and efficient provision of our website.
We have concluded a data processing agreement (DPA) with Framer, which obliges them to protect our users' data and not to pass it on to unauthorized third parties.
5. Cookies
Our website uses cookies. Cookies are small text files stored on your device.
We use a Consent Management Tool (Cookie Banner) to manage your cookie preferences. When you first visit our site, you can choose which categories of cookies you wish to allow.
- Strictly Necessary (Required): These cookies are essential for the website to function (e.g., saving your cookie preferences). They do not require your consent and are used based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Analytics & Marketing (Third-Party): These cookies are set by third-party services like Google Analytics, YouTube, and CommonNinja. We will only use these services and set their cookies if you give your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) via the cookie banner.
You can change or withdraw your cookie consent at any time via the [Link/Button "Cookie-Einstellungen"] on our website.
6. Third-Party Services and Embedded Content
We integrate third-party services on our website. This is done on the legal basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you provide via our cookie banner. If you do not consent, this content will not be loaded, and no data will be transferred.
a) Application Forms
When you submit data via the application form on this website, the entered information (e.g., name, email address, message, attachments) is transmitted through a secure webhook to our automation tool n8n. From there, the data is forwarded to our email service provider Brevo (formerly Sendinblue, Sendinblue GmbH, Köpenicker Straße 126, 10179 Berlin, Germany), which delivers the application to us as well as a confirmation email to the applicant via email.
No personal data is transferred to unrelated third parties at any point. The purpose of this processing is to handle your inquiry, based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in effective communication).
b) Google Analytics (with Anonymization)
If you consent, this website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service operated by Google Ireland Limited.
- Purpose: To analyze website traffic and user behavior to optimize our site.
- Anonymization: We have activated the
_anonymizeIpfunction. This means your IP address is truncated by Google within the EU/EEA before being sent to the US. - Opt-Out: You can withdraw your consent at any time via our cookie settings or prevent this by installing the Google browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Privacy Policy: https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/
c) Embedded YouTube Videos
If you consent, we embed videos from YouTube (operated by Google Ireland Limited) on our website.
- How it works: We use the "enhanced privacy mode" (youtube-nocookie.com). According to YouTube, this mode prevents the storing of visitor information unless they watch the video.
- Data Transfer: When you click "play" on a video, a connection to YouTube's servers is established. This (and subsequent interactions) may transfer personal data to Google, such as your IP address and which video you watched. If you are logged into your YouTube account, Google may associate this information with your profile.
- Privacy Policy: https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/
d) LinkedIn Feed (via CommonNinja)
If you consent, we use a component from CommonNinja (CommonNinja Ltd., based in Israel) to embed a live feed of our LinkedIn content on our website.
- How it works: When you load a page containing this feed (after giving consent), your browser connects directly to CommonNinja's servers to retrieve the content. This process transfers data (such as your IP address and browser information) to CommonNinja.
- LinkedIn: CommonNinja's service retrieves content from LinkedIn (operated by LinkedIn Ireland). This may also involve data being processed by LinkedIn.
- Data Transfer (Israel): CommonNinja is based in Israel. The European Commission has issued an "adequacy decision" for Israel (Art. 45 GDPR), confirming that the country provides a level of data protection comparable to the EU.
- Privacy Policy (CommonNinja): [Please insert CommonNinja Privacy Policy URL]
- Privacy Policy (LinkedIn): https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy
7. International Data Transfers (Third Countries)
When you consent to the use of third-party services, personal data may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries outside the European Union/EEA, such as the United States (e.g., Google/YouTube, and AWS infrastructure used by Framer).
The USA is not considered by the European Commission to have an adequate level of data protection. This means there is a risk that your data may be processed by U.S. authorities for control and monitoring purposes, without effective legal remedies being available to you.
- Legal Basis for Transfer:
- For services like Google Analytics and YouTube, this transfer is based on your explicit consent (Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR), which you provide in the cookie banner.
- For our hosting (AWS), we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) (Art. 46 GDPR) included in our DPA with Framer, which provide contractual safeguards.
- Israel (CommonNinja): As mentioned in 6.c), a transfer to CommonNinja in Israel is permitted based on an EU adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR).
8. Data Protection for Applications
We collect and process the personal data of applicants (e.g., via e-mail) for the purpose of the application procedure. If an employment contract is concluded, the data will be stored in compliance with legal requirements. If no contract is concluded, the application documents will be automatically erased 3 months after notification, provided that erasure does not conflict with any other legitimate interests (e.g., burden of proof in proceedings under the General Equal Treatment Act - AGG).
The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (initiating a contract) and/or § 26 BDSG (German Federal Data Protection Act).
9. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your data based on the following legal grounds:
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): For actions like using Analytics, YouTube, and the LinkedIn Feed.
- Performance of a Contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): When processing is necessary to fulfill a contract with you or for pre-contractual measures (e.g., an inquiry).
- Legal Obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR): When we are required to process data by law (e.g., tax retention periods).
- Legitimate Interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): For processing necessary for our legitimate interests, such as ensuring website security and functionality (hosting, necessary cookies).
