3P expands exhibition at the Twist Oil and Natural Gas Museum
Just in time for the summer festival of the Friends of the Oil Museum Emsland/Grafschaft Bentheim in Twist, 3P Services has expanded its exhibition at the museum with a new information panel. This addition provides visitors with even deeper insights into modern pipeline inspection and the evaluation of real inspection data.
Since 2019, 3P Services has been a supporting member of the Twist Oil and Natural Gas Museum, contributing to the preservation of an important technical landmark of the region. As part of the summer barbecue, the company has now enhanced its existing exhibition with an additional information panel.
An 8-inch pipeline inspection tool ("pig") developed by 3P Services and donated to the museum after numerous field deployments has been part of the exhibition for several years. The inspection tool was first used in an oil transportation pipeline in the Emsland region in 1995 and today demonstrates how pipelines are inspected from the inside using advanced measurement technology. This enables the early detection of corrosion and other anomalies before they can compromise the integrity of a pipeline.
The new information panel uses an example from Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) inspection to illustrate how real inspection data is analyzed. Visitors gain insight into how recorded signals are interpreted to assess the condition of a pipeline and identify potential defects.
Special thanks go to Hans Neuß, father of a 3P team member and treasurer of the Friends of the Museum, who came up with the idea. Holger Hüneke, president, and Rudi Gaidosch, museum director, were delighted to expand the exhibition accordingly.
As a globally active specialist in pipeline inspection, 3P Services supports pipeline operators with innovative inspection and analysis solutions to ensure the safe and reliable operation of their infrastructure. The exhibition in Twist makes this technology accessible to the public and demonstrates the important role that modern measurement technology plays in maintaining the safety of critical supply networks.
The Twist Oil and Natural Gas Museum documents the history of oil and natural gas production in one of Germany’s most important production regions. Covering approximately 450 square meters of exhibition space, the museum presents the history of technology, industry, and the region, offering visitors an engaging insight into the development of energy supply systems. Guided tours are also available.
